Subject:HUGE Strangeling.com Update! Tons of new prints, merchandise & more!
Security:Public

Hi everyone!

I have just completed a HUGE gallery update at my website! Over twenty new prints! All of my new paintings are now available there as prints (and canvas prints) - even the BRAND new never-released ones are for sale as Canvas prints - like A Candle in the Dark, Rainbow Sherbet Fairy, Angel in Lilac, Eve Triptych, etc....- SO many of them! And they all have free shipping anywhere in the world!!! Yes, ALL prints get free shipping anywhere when you order from strangeling.com . I'm still in the process of updating the tattoo & fans gallery (I know, it's like a year out of date still, but we've figured out the technical difficulties). I have however updated the MERCHANDISE page with TONS of new stuff - a handy page now that has links to all sorts of merchandise of mine (even some I haven't told you about yet - you'll have to go & see!). It's a wonderful update, so if you haven't bee to my official website in a while, you'll see a lot of new stuff!

My website is of course:

http://www.strangeling.com

Those of you with AOL and similar ISPs may need to clear the cache on your browsers to see the new updates, if you've visited recently. The updated website page should say July 20th, 2009.

Specifically - tons of new artwork can be found in the galleries here:

The Strangeling Galleries

The newly updated Merchandise page (with fun new things!) can be seen here:

Jasmine's Newly Updated MERCHANDISE Page!

All of my new paintings (even the ones I just finished in the past few days) are available now as prints, and even in the Limited Edition Hand Painted Canvas print formats - normally I debut my prints on eBay first, so you can get them early right now. Remember - website orders currently get FREE SHIPPING ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD! Yep - free Priority Mail shipping for US folks and free 1st Class Air for overseas folks. Even with the Post Office raising their prices again, I'm still clinging on to offering free shipping. No minimum, no tricks.

And for those of you are new here - I have some ORIGINAL paintings (the actually original paintings themselves!) up on eBay for auction currenly - just click below:

Jasmine's New Original Paintings!

Have fun enjoying the new artwork, and shopping!

Until next time...

-Jasmine

Oh...and, if anyone sees and notices the sewn cellphone straps I made, if you guys want, I can make more and send out~ Just PM me with which members [just one or two if you want; more is practically impossible...xD] names you want on, and your adresses so I can send them over. I can make them in white and black BG [those are the only colors I own atm...]

I'm starting up a little project of themed icons and I would really love some ideas on what themes I should use when I'm done with the one I'm working on right now.

Sounds interesting? Read more here at my journal.

Mood: pleased

We're very pleased to announce that one of our classic Radio Comix titles, Bureau of Mana Investigation by Smudge Hanson & Ed Garcia is now live and ready for reading online!

BMI is a delightful urban fantasy tale- part police procedural, part high fantasy adventure and part romance! Featuring the expressive art and deft storytelling that Smudge is famous for, it is a fantastic mix of drama, humor and high octane action in the futuristic fantasy setting of Nivarria! Recommended for fans of anime, A Distant Soil or the Shadowrun RPG series.

The first pages are now live on the Radio Comix Online site, and will have regular weekly updates. We hope you'll check it out!

EMG

I had an interesting, seriously nostalgic moment filling orders on Saturday, putting together a pack of 'Dragon' stationery. As it began, so it ends. Good progress on orders.

Some bugs have popped back up at PA that will need some attention. *frown*

Have uploaded Ursula's calendar five times now, and am ready to make some adjustments and try number 6. *muttermuttermutter*

Torn World post today will be a look at the origin of the time shattering.

Art and Authoring

I worked further on the Green Fairy piece, more fiddly foreground details, and I added another figure in the background. Haven't scanned yet.

Have some phone pictures from our trip to Cordova!

This is Child's glacier. It was rainy and chilly, but we still got to see some car-sized pieces calve off!

This is the million dollar bridge. It is VERY SCARY to drive across.

Home and Health

I hand over a whole lot of money this afternoon to get the siding for our house ordered! We scrutinized everything this weekend, made some choices, waffled over the HUGE pricetag, and finally decided to go for it. Between this and the car, it's been a pricey summer. The car, so far, has been worth every PENNY. The seat alone is so superior and wonderful that I get where I'm going feeling like I've just had a massage or a hot tub or something. My back deserves a nice car.

We watched Kung Fu Panda last night and enjoyed it enormously. It wasn't as good as Up, but I cried much less (not at all, to be honest). Very cute and funny. We laughed out loud a great deal!

Planning

I have two more reports on my desk to finish today and three to draft. I have to REUPLOAD Ursula's calendar and finish and upload Rachel's this afternoon. I'm at work, but I should get these reports finished and I can do stuff on my own time and answer phones. Tonight is workout night, dinner, an hour on orders, and then some couch time. I'm watching Avatar through Netflix and really enjoying the show. Giant, slobbery, flying, 6-legged bison! What's not to love?

If you haven't read the LJ comments on the previous complaint about Marvel, then you need to go read this comment thread. Really.

Final Count:
2 dead alligators (including above)
9 dead armadillo
1 sneaky opossum
2 Cockroaches
Several frogs. (-minus the one caught by the opossum)

Love watching architecture and what it says about the environment. Louisiana, with the exception of strip malls, has VERY high peaked roofs, and the houses tend to be either redbrick or clapboard. Redbrick goes to the ground, clapboard houses were all at least a foot above the ground.

Talking to one of the guys who worked at the Marriott (19 stories tall) he was saying that come hurricane season, that people just come moving in because it's one of the few buildings that have a back up generator when the Hurricanes knock out the power.
He also talked about the curfews, if you're out after dark, even if it's just to nip down to the store for more gas for your home generator, you're arrested, spend the night in jail and massively charged for breaking curfew.

Think one of the things I'm most grateful for being back is the use of my vocabulary. Keep things -real- simple down there. However, 'simple' most emphatically does -not- mean 'stupid'. /end drawl.

And the heat! I'm warm! And Dry! DESERT! I'VE MISSED YOU SO. Here's how to bake cookies on your dashboard!

Anyway. As mentioned f-locked earlier, I'm back on the job hunt. "A trained monkey can have a selling ratio of 25%", so I'm outta work.
Anyone knows of anyone who needs house or petsitting, lemme know.

My grandfather on my mother's side, passed away on Sunday at the age of 83. In his life he witnessed much and lived through even more.

In his youth he spent time in jail as a political prisoner and had to watch his brother, also incarcerated, die of tuberculosis in front of him, unable to do anything for him.

In 1950 he witnessed one of the greatest debacles in Brazilian Footballing history. Having reached the World Cup Final, being played in Rio, my grandfather, along with the rest of the country spent too much time celebrating the "easy win" the day before the match, and the hangover the next day would last for 8 years as Brazil lost to Uruguay. My grandfather was at the Maracana Stadium along with 190,000 other spectators that day.

In 1986, he saved the life of his grandson who was being swept away by a rip-tide off of Leblon beach in Rio, diving in and pulling me to shore, then buying me a chocolate popsicle for my troubles.

He was a lover of music, opera and tango in particular. He was a product of a different time and culture, had a wicked sense of humor, and even in his last days at the hospital was cracking jokes and flirting with the nurses.

I've watched World Cup Finals with him, Brazilian Championships with him, and was truly tought to enjoy the simpler things in life from him.

He is survived by three daughters, six granddaughters, one grandson and one great-grandson.
